This one is absolutely beautiful! The sense of light and fluid-ness to your Monotypes is wonderful... I have not been able to find a suitable water based paint for Monotype, but I defiantly think I have to try it now even though the oils eat away at the paper...
Just too wonderful of an effect! Thanks!

Oil based inks will not "eat away" at a good printmaking paper.

This was The Image in my head. The fact that you've done it already does nothing to dampen my joy.

Bloody brilliant.

I love the watercolour wash-like effects, I've never seen anything quite like this done with monotype. This is beautiful... the light here is intense and striking, too. Great image.

Hmm ... I think what I love about this style of art is the way it walks the line between representation and abstraction. It's obvious that you have prodigious technical skill, but when applied through a monotype it makes it all seem so organic ... so random, as though you just threw paint at a page, swirled it around, and this happened. Anyway, I can't really explain it away, but this is just incredible. :+fav:

This is unspeakably gorgeous.

I'm doing print at the moment and monoprint is what I eventually want to get into. How do you work?

Thank you! I use oil based inks and oil paint on plexiglass. I use a variety of tools and brushes, my hands and rags, etc to push the medium around and then I print using an etching press.

How long does it take you start to finish? I'm worried about it drying before I've played with it!

It's an oil based medium, so as it tacks up, it provides a different reaction to manipulation. It's a matter of experimenting and allowing discoveries to occur. I can't tell you exactly how long a piece will take, needless to say that depends on so many factors.
