Daily Deviation, 2008-01-15

Daily DeviationFinding this deviant's gallery was a delightful surprise. Noctambulist 1 is a Monotype, which means the image was painted and/or rubbed away from the surface of a blank plate and the ink then transferred onto a sheet of paper by pressing the two together. This produces a single print that has a unique quality that can't be achieved by painting or drawing alone (and in the case of ~tombennett, by just any printmaker). Make sure to full-view and check the gallery for more greatness. (Featured by ^stigmatattoo)

+dammit, this is gorgeous. looks like a phantom figure caught by the headlights of a vehicle. oddly, it is the figure that feels more unreal by the lack of color and the swift definition of its shapes (thumbs up on that!), in contrast to the rich stains and textures that seems to easily define themselves into a believable setting. +

it's incredible that more people haven't looked at this, as compared to the perhaps over viewed deviations of today.

not really being able to make advanced critique, owing to the fact that i can't paint, or make monotype images, for that matter, i felt i must comment, this image compelled me to.

keep up the good work, not wanting to spam, the rest of your gallery is amazing.

This print is so wonderfully expressive, the unplanned 'imperfections' and other nuances in contrast to the well-defined figure set the perfect mood. I also love the subtle yet effective color scheme. Well done. :+fav::thumbsup:

Beautiful!
Excellent work. The only thing that I would change is to tone down the left side texture. It feels too overpowering and it's fighting the figure for attention.
